American cuisine may have its quirks and love for bacon, but New York is so diverse that it has everything and then some.

So, to bring New York without leaving home, let’s pretend to be Americans: eat brunch, love fast food and have one of the most delicious sweets to eat (and make). To enjoy yours, just wake up late and add: Eggs (benedict eggs) with bacon, Bagel, Pancakes and cereal!A good black coffee and mimosa (a mix of orange juice and champagne).

Welcome to Brunch.

One of the things I love about American coffee is eggs benedict, but this I haven’t learned how to make it at home yet (if you know how, teach me?).

And of course, the pancakes!

By the way, American pancakes are different from ours.I made the recipe on Instagram of Aos Viajantes, and it was a success.Write it down:

American Pancakes Recipe:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of wheat flour
  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons tablespoon sugar
  • Salt (1 teaspoon)
  • 1 cup milk tea
  • Vanilla essence (1 teaspoon)

  • Mix everything with a whisk.Grease a skillet with butter. Then just put a shell of this dough, wait a little and turn.
  • It’s super easy, but whoever wants to, send me a message on @aosviajantes saying you’ve read this post and I’ll help you live!

The Pizza from Manhattan

I could also talk about the hamburger and the American hot dog, but among the fast foods I choose pizza!

Firstly because we love it too, and secondly because Pizza is the New Yorker’s food to eat on the go, you know how? That’s it, place your order, take the pizza on a piece of paper, and walk away with it and eat it.

The simpler the better, so to feel like eating pizza in New York, order that mozzarella flavor, or Parmigiana and eat it with your hands, you don’t even have to wash the dishes afterwards.

For Pizza in New York after Quarantine:Joe’s Pizza, Address: 7 Carmine St, New York, NY 10014 Also: NY Pizza Suprema, 413 8th Ave, New York, NY 10001.

The American Cheesecake

A dessert to sweeten life in quarantine and remember of the best cheesecakes in the world, which are located in New York. The recipe comes in handy at that moment of gathering the family together and inventing something on a Sunday afternoon, you know?

I confess that I only made it once, because the amount of cream cheese is kind of inhuman, but it’s a super easy recipe to make.
