How to get to Machu Picchu?
When you first arrive in Cusco, you can fly from Lima, Puno or Arequipa, from there you basically have 3 options:
- get in train from Cusco
- travel at tRen from Ollantaytambo
- perform it Inca trail by foot

How to get to Machu Picchu: Train route from Cusco
The complete train route is in Poroy (Cusco) – Ollantaytambo – Machu Picchu and It has a duration of about 4 hours. Also take the account:
- the station of Poroy is 30 minutes from the center of Cusco
- Ollantaytambo is more than 2 hours from Cuscoyou can get the train by bus and get to know the pueblo and all the ruins it offers.
It will all depend on your time and itinerary to define the route, many arrive in Cusco and travel to Ollantaytambo in one or two days and later depart from the Pueblo de Machu Picchu by train, many others in Ollantaytambo.
