How to issue the International Vaccination Certificate over the internetVou na Janela

O International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (CIVP) is a fundamental document for Brazilians traveling to several countries, including Australia, Thailand, South Africa, Colombia, Bolivia and recently Paraguay.

These countries require the document to prove that the traveler has taken the yellow fever vaccine and without it, people cannot enter the countries that require the certificate. And the list of countries is long, see them all here.

The International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis is issued free of charge by Anvisa. I have already shown here on the blog how to take the yellow fever vaccine and how to get the certificate here in São Paulo, read more here.

The good news is that the document can now be issued over the internet, which will make life a lot easier for those who live far from Anvisa’s issuance stations.

How to issue the International Vaccination Certificate online

If you haven’t had the yellow fever vaccine yet, this is the first step. The vaccine can be taken at any post of the Unified Health System (SUS) or in a private clinic. Keep the proof of vaccination, you will need it to issue your International Certificate of Vaccination.

Then you will need to scan the certificate, your RG with CPF number. If you don’t have access to a scanner, a well-made photo of these documents, so that all the information is readable, will also do.

The next step is to access the Federal Government Services Portal and register. The website is this one. The procedure is very simple and fast, it takes no more than 5 minutes.

Federal Government Services Portal

After registering, you will enter on this other site to request your certificate. Click on the “Request” button.

As you have already registered on the Federal Government Services Portal, part of your data will already be imported, the rest you need to fill in, but there is no mystery, the site is very intuitive.

After completing the process, Anvisa has up to 10 working days to analyze your request. When the application is approved, you can print the certificate at home, if you need a duplicate, it can be printed through the Services Portal.

It is worth mentioning that the full yellow fever vaccine until a few years ago was valid for 10 years, but now it is valid for life.
