Best beaches in Porto de Galinhas:
#1 Porto de Galinhas Beach or Vila Beach
It has been considered several times the most beautiful beach in Brazil by Revista Viagem e Turismo. That has consequences, right?! To compete for a spot in the sun in summer, arrive early. It is the most central beach and is where the rafts depart for the famous natural pools (R$ 30 Aug/2020).
It is for those who prefer the comfort of renting chairs and umbrellas or enjoying the infrastructure of trendy tents facing the sea. Its waters are calm and the pools are very close to the sand, but to visit, only at low tide, so pay attention to the tide table of the village to know the best time. It is 4 km long.

#2 Maracaipe Beach
Another long beach with strong waves and so beautiful that it makes you want to sit and admire it. It hosts surfing championships, so you can imagine what the waves are like. It is located in Vila de Todos os Santos, opposite the Coqueiros Trail, which gives Maracaípe Beach an even more idyllic air.
It has a more rootsy atmosphere, with some nice tents, and it’s on this beach that the turtles spawn. Walking along the sand is about 40 minutes from Praia da Vila.
Distance from center: about 3.5km along Estrada Maracaípe, but you can go along the coast, as the dirt road is good.

#3 Pontal de Maracaipe
In our opinion, of all the beaches in Porto de Galinhas, this is the most incredible! We had already been told that the sunset at Pontal do Maracaípe was a must, but it is much more than that.
The beach is extensive, the waters are calmer and the view is sensational.
There is still the mouth of the Maracaípe River, which flows into sandbanks, and at low tide it is possible to walk past small river or sea pools that are inexplicable. In the river and in the mangroves, the raft ride (R$35 for 1 hour, Jun/2020) to see the seahorses.
There are also some famous bars such as Bar do Galo and Bar do Bebê, which have tables in the water. And to get there, there are some jangadeiros that take you to them and circulate through other legal points.
The sunset needs no words, and the closest point that the car arrives is at Pousada Brisas, which by the way has a great restaurant open to the public. An Uber to the center cost R$10.00 from the reception of this inn. But from Maracaípe to Pontal de Maracaípe is a 15-minute walk.
Distance from center: about 5.5 km, only accessible by buggy or on foot

#4 Camboa Beach
This is the furthest beach from the center of the village, after Muro Alto, near the Port of Suape. It is totally deserted and without infrastructure. It is for those who are really looking for a reserved place.
With calm waters, with a wall of sand and sprinkled with coconut trees, it looks like a painting.
Distance from center: about 12 km, accessible by buggy, or walking from Muro Alto.
#5 Muro Alto Beach
One of the most beautiful beaches in Porto de Galinhas, Muro Alto is surrounded by reefs, but that’s not where its name comes from. It comes from the “wall” or sand wall before the beach. It is a place with a “beach bar” infrastructure, where you only pay for what you consume. It is in front of the most popular spot, where you can rent kayaks (R$ 25 up to 50 minutes) and SUP (R$ 30 up to 50 minutes).
The corners of the beach are emptier and if you want more peace, this is where you can lay out your canga and relax.
If you like to swim, you can go to the reefs without having to rent anything. A pool forms after them and is a good place to snorkelling. Because of these reefs, the waters of this beach are calm and inviting, even for children.
Distance from center: about 12 km along the Porto de Galinhas road
#6 Praia do Cupe
The beach is very beautiful (there is no ugly beach in Porto de Galinhas! Hahaha), but with strong waves. It is not for those who want to take a shower with tranquility. So much so that I got the impression that those who stay close to it are more intent on enjoying the hotel facilities.
Cupe beach is extensive, with 4.5 kilometers and mixes stretches of rustic landscapes with stretches of hotel complexes and vacation homes.
Distance from center: about 4 km
#7 Pontal do Cupe
We love this beach! It’s a natural spot to swim with little fish without having to fight for a spot. With calm and transparent waters, it is wide enough to take nice pictures with little fish in a corner of your own.
It has infrastructure with a “beach bar” and parking (R$ 5 Apr/2020), where you only pay for what you consume, and there are also the most empty spots, in the corners.
Distance from center: about 9.5 km
