An EasyJet survey was released indicating which most disappointing tourist attraction in the world?
2,000 people in the UK were interviewed for the survey.
Guess who won (or lost, depending on your point of view…)?
The Mona Lisa at the Louvre Museum!!! Yes, the most famous painting in the world was chosen as the attraction that most disappoints tourists by 86% of respondents.
What would be the reason? I imagine it’s the size of the painting, the fact that it’s protected by glass and has to be seen from a distance, plus the crowd that gathers in front of it. Only that…

Some facts draw attention.
Paris, one of the most touristy cities in the world, has 4 attractions in the top 10 of disappointment. The Louvre Museum, the most visited in the world in 2018, is one of them!
Rome, another very visited and mandatory city in a travel itinerary to Italy, has two attractions that are not seen by tourists.
Personally, if I had to choose the most disappointing tourist attraction in the world from this list, I would vote for the Manneken Pis in Brussels, which came in third.
I remember walking through the streets of Brussels, following the map to find the statue and when I get there…. so small, bland and half-hidden. It was frustrating. But let’s face it, what could I expect from a statue/fountain of a little boy peeing? hahaha
