Surfing and the beaches of Bali

Uluwatu beach

Bali’s main beaches are great for surfing, with swells that make surfers head.

At coral barriers are frequentso if you want to learn to surf, choose a local teacher.

We, from the Digital Nomad Guide, didn’t take surfing lessons, but we witnessed some lessons, they looked like a lot of fun. As we prefer to bathe in the sea than practice water sports, we have some beaches to recommend.

In Padangbai, the beach is white sand, the Caribbean in Bali, although it is better known as a stop to go to Lombok Island or even the paradise of the Gili Islands.

THE Padang Padang Beach is the face of Bali. Its access is through a temple and, soon after, you can see the big rocks, the calm sea, due to the corals, and the surfers in the background, catching the waves that break in the barriers.

What to do in Bali

Padang Padang

Undoubtedly, our favorite beach is Padang Padang, especially since the village is quiet and good for staying in Bali.

Close to Padang Padang is Blue Point, a gorge filled with houses, shops and restaurants. There is a cave and the Uluwatu beachexcellent for surfing.

If you are looking for tranquility, the beaches of Jimbaran and Nusa Dua are excellent. In Jimbaran, the sea is calm at the ends of the beach, the sunsets are amazing and there are excellent seafood restaurants, which cannot be left out about what to do in Bali.

We do not recommend Kuta, Legian and Seminyak for bathing as the water is dirty, the vendors are pushy and some restaurants think they own the beach. These cities are more suitable for enjoying the night.

O Besakih Temple is the mother temple of Bali, located on Mount Agung. In reality, Besakih Temple is a set of temples, the most important of which are dedicated to Shiva, Brahma and Vishnu.

This set of temples attracts many visitors, even though it is far from the most touristy areas of the island of Bali. Just make sure it’s safe, as Mount Agung is an active volcano.
